It’s a common fact that women are more or equally successful and work hard every day. However, it’s important to remember the same, considering the effort put into it. Moreover, if you notice around you, this is what most of them do.
Paying women less than men has been a long time. The second wave of the feminist movement fought against economic discrimination and demand.
It includes various reforms at the legislative level that are hard to achieve.
People have been protesting against the discrimination of women since the 18th century. It has been a long journey for them to gain equal rights denied to them previously, but they have made progress.
Despite being a sign of progress, women still face inequalities all over the world. For example, they are often paid less or have to work harder to get ahead. In addition, the UN reports that we are still not living up to our potential in terms of equality.

Women empowerment is an essential part of today’s generation. It’s a way to get equal rights with men and make them aware that they are doing injustice to women.
People who have suffered the most oppression in history. Women lived in fear mostly because they were subject to a man’s temper and whims. Everything they had worked rights to their homes was in the hands of the men around them.
It was a revolution that was unstoppable. Women weren’t treated as equals, so they took to the streets to demand better opportunities, including the right to vote. This period changed women from having “the weaker gender” mentality to becoming leaders in their fields. A few decades ago, most women were housewives who spent their day taking care of the household and kids; however, today, an increasing number of women are gaining power through positions like politicians, lawyers, doctors, directors.
There was no freedom of choice for women. Women empowerment came in like a breath of fresh air. It made them follow their dreams, take control of their lives and fight for their rights.
Women's power is one of the most significant achievements of the twentieth century. We've witnessed a great revolution before our very eyes- women have been empowered to make their own decisions instead of depending on men.
Is it important? Absolutely. However, we still need education on why it’s so important. Some people don’t realize the significance of gender equality. Because of this, we need to give more speeches and have more special events to convince the public that we still have a long way to go.

In today's age, we are still making progress in terms of Women's Empowerment. While the Western countries have done an exceptional job ensuring equal rights for women, most of the 3rd world nations are still struggling to establish a system to uplift female standards worldwide.
In the past, women in these communities had their fundamental rights taken from them. There was little or no education that they were permitted to get, and they were forced to take care of the household. This scenario is highly regressive.
However, we do have problems in our society, especially with education and women’s freedom.

Women remain oppressed in many regions, deprived of fundamental rights such as education, the right to vote, and reproductive rights. Even worse, these women cannot even leave their homes without a male guardian's permission. They require constant supervision and control by a male family member.
Domestic violence is a significant problem that is often overlooked. This can be linked to the fact that most women do not go through with the police report, and the number is not recorded. In addition, it is commonly found that many women are afraid to speak up about any violence or abuse they have endured from their husbands.
We need to empower women. By empowering women, we will enrich society, and we will all be better off:
- Compulsory education for girls should be made universal and accessible to have the same opportunities as boys. Thus, women are empowered to make a life for themselves and their families.
- Violence against women must stop. It is unacceptable in a society that claims to care about human rights.
- We need to create legal frameworks that prevent violence against women.
