During my visit to my uncle last summer, he decided to go to Paradise Point for a picnic. When my cousins and I heard about it, we couldn't keep our excitement hidden, and we decided to go there in the morning.
As it was a lovely day outside, we hired a bus for the entire day and reached there at 8 in the morning. From there, we hired a hut and took our breakfast (consisting of toast, jam, and tea) as we had already prepared the meal.
We reached the beach at about 9 a.m., having deposited our belongings under a tree. We put on our swimming trunks and stayed in shallow waters. We gathered shells of different types and colors, and we also collected some conches. We talked of waves, storms, ships, whales, and sharks.
Finally, we jumped into the sea. We had a few inflated rubber tubes with us, which kept some of us afloat without much effort by reducing the energy required to tread water. We looked out at the ocean for what seemed like ages and then decided to swim to shore.
On the way back, someone suggested that we play a pillow fight so that we could rest. The proposed game was that of horses and riders. One group consisted of the horse, while the other group acted as the rider. The team ordered to perform like a horse was allowed to use pillows to hit those who played as riders. By order, they could change positions with another group after playing a particular period or being hit on the head by a pillow. There were multiple pillows on the boat nearby, so we decided to take advantage of them before they floated away. It was so much fun.
We felt hungry and returned to our hut and unpacked the food we had brought. There were no plates to serve the food on, and we used pieces of paper to pack the food. We emptied baskets full of bread and fruits into our open palms. We had a few crates of aerated water, but we consumed them rapidly over 10 minutes.
Afterward, we lay down on the sand for a 15-minute rest. After dinner, we went for a walk along the beach. Some of us slept while others sang songs or listened to music collections on their phones.
We got up again after a short rest. Some of my cousins jumped back into the sea for another spell of swimming and playing games, while others walked barefoot on the fabulous sandy beach. A few took their fishing rods to catch some fish, while some more adventurous ones hired a boat from the fishermen there and went rowing in it.
Those who wanted to try other outdoor activities rented some bikes to go cycling or rented a car from the neighboring resort and went on a road trip. If you didn't want to participate in any activities, you could stroll along the beach and relax in a recliner.
We had a fantastic day that filled our minds and hearts full of freshness. It was one of the memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
